About

In fact the idea is really simple and straight forward: when we browse a website we consume power which means CO2 emission. Either we are talking about power to operate the servers behind the websites or our own PCs, laptops or mobile phones, that we are currently using to surf the web, combined they become a huge power consumption source.

GreenWeb.org has the mission of monitoring registered websites against CO2 emissions and taking effective actions to make those websites energy-efficient and carbon neutral. We are doing this by:

  • Taking in consideration all the power consumption devices that are implied when browsing a website

  • Calculating the amount of CO2 emissions generated per website usage

  • Purchasing green certificates to neutralize your website's CO2 footprint

  • Sponsor NGOs to plant trees

This way you will be able to contribute with your website to a greener web, thus helping the environment, leading others by example into doing the same. In order to really make a difference it takes a lot of people to do the something about it, so just click here and give it a try for free.
